Cheap SEO not the smartest move.

Posted on Thursday 7 September 2006

Having a limit budget for SEO is not so bad if your site products or services are not very competitive, but if you are selling something that’s highly competitive, having a limited budget for SEO may not be your smartest move, after all your competitors may have a large budget focused to SEO, and when that happens the best ranking will probably be from the company that puts more effort and funds into a good SEO Plan.

When deciding what type of budget you can put by for an SEO plan, you should really consider a few factors.
#1. How competitive are your keyword phrases
#2. What kind of results are you looking for?
#3. Who are your website competitors?

After you have looked at these factors, contact an SEO company for a quote. Be advised, many successful and experienced SEO companies are in high demand, so mentioning a small or cheap budget may be a turn off to an experienced SEO firm, especially if your product or service is highly competitive. If you want the best of the best, then ‘cheap’ shouldn’t be in your vocabulary.

Also, website owners should understand that SEO work is an ongoing offsite and onsite project that takes a lot work from an SEO firm, it’s not like buying a tangible product, it requires time, research, consultation, analysis, code work, link campaigns with other webmasters, directory submissions, and ongoing offsite and onsite work. When you hire an SEO company, you should understand this and trying to haggle a price or request very low budget SEO services isn’t always the way to go.

Another solution if you are very limited on funds, you might want to consider learning the in’s and out’s of SEO, LSI, LSA, SEM yourself and seeing how well you do to improve your own rankings.
